- About Josh Kempinaire.
Josh Kempinaire is a Swiss landscape, lifestyle and adventure photographer. He has travelled extensively around the world, starting his career before entering university. Since then, he has spent much of his life on the move, accompanied by his camera and a desire to discover the most beautiful natural wonders of the world. Josh's love for landscapes began during a trip to Scandinavia. Surrounded by the natural Scandinavian backdrop of impressive mountains, clear lakes and breathtaking glaciers, he patiently learned the secrets of photography to capture their majestic beauty. Josh now alternates between photography and graphic design, both at home and on the road.
Through his lens, Josh expresses his love for nature and all the unique places the world has to offer. He says that by photographing landscapes, he feels at the mercy of nature, discussing the fact that with it, so much is out of his control; no two situations are the same. In fact, looking through his impressive portfolio, one can see this sublime gravity of nature. Between the sumptuous sunsets of New Zealand, the heavenly beaches of the Seychelles and the sharp peaks of the Dolomites every moment is different for Josh.
Working for brands based around the world, he has taken images for tourist offices, as well as licensing his images to independent clients such as electronics brand Nokia, car brands like Mazda and Volvo and outdoor specialists like Mammut and Victorinox and Kathmandu. Each photograph is primarily intended to tell a story and Josh takes this to heart so that nothing is left to chance, but does not distort reality in his shoots.
